IT STRATEGY

IT strategy is an action plan for achieving a goal; set in the context of a rapidly changing technology environment; that explains how an organization exploits technology to create business value. For any IT strategy to be effective; it first must have measurable links to the overall business strategy - and it is here that many IT strategies sometimes fail. Too often IT strategy is seen as an exercise that is completed and promptly shelved. Perhaps it is simply a refresh of last year's strategy, with only the buzz-words changed to give the false hope that positive results are within reach.
